The Story of Barako Home Care
“At Barako Homecare, we care for your loved ones like our own family.”

Nyima Sanyang, founder of Barako Home Care, arrived in the US in 2002. When her daughter was diagnosed with a heart condition at birth, the care she received in the hospital inspired Nyima to pursue a career in nursing. With over 20 years of experience in nursing, she has cared for numerous loved ones at UW.

During her time at the hospital, Nyima saw how love and care can transform an individual’s health and give them a purpose for life. This realization led her to envision a service that provides such care in the comfort of one’s home.

With this vision in mind, she started Barako Home Care Services. “Barako” means “home” and “blessings.” Nyima and her team aim to provide family-like care to the elderly, as well as to physically and cognitively disabled individuals.
